Humans are supposedly never content to just be. We’re always striving for the next best thing, the next shiny object, the next level of growth. Why is this?
I think it’s because we tie our worth to our productivity and healing & growth are seen as productive. So if we’re healing and growing constantly, we’re definitely doing something, right?
Yeah, we’re doing something, but constantly being focused on healing means we’re never healed. It means there’s always something wrong with us, and there’s always something to fix.
Another downside to a constant focus on healing is that you’re constantly in the middle of all the muck. All the bad vibes, bad experiences, dark energy, regret. That becomes your reality when that’s all you’re focused on. Sure, there’s some great moments of clarity and happiness and expansion, but it’s not the main focus. Depending on what type of life you’re trying to create for yourself, this is probably counter productive.
